This quick and easy broiled lobster tail recipe delivers tender, succulent lobster with a perfect blend of garlic, smoked paprika, and white pepper, all enhanced by butter and lemon.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 lobster tails

Ingredients

2 Lobster tails, about 6 oz each

1 ½ tablespoon butter, divided

Pinch of Celtic sea salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon white pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler to high.
  2. Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet or in an oven-safe dish.
  3. Using sharp kitchen scissors or a knife, carefully cut the top of the lobster tail shell down to the tip of the tail, avoiding cutting into the meat. Remove the vein and any grit if needed.
  4. Gently pull the shell down so the lobster meat sits on top of the shell, creating a “butterfly” effect.
  5. For added flavor and presentation, slide a lemon wedge or two under the lobster meat, between the meat and the shell.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, smoked paprika, and white pepper.
  7. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the lobster meat.
  8. Add small pats of butter along the top of the lobster tails.
  9. Place the lobster tails in the oven on an upper middle rack and broil for about 8-10 minutes, until the meat is opaque and white.
  10. Remove from the oven and serve immediately with drawn butter.

Notes

  • Store leftover lobster tails in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 5-7 minutes or until heated through, but avoid overcooking.
  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the spice mix.
  • For a fresh, citrus flavor, sprinkle lemon zest over the lobster before broiling.
