1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup beef broth or water (if needed, for consistency)
4 burger buns, toasted
4 slices cheddar cheese (or Swiss, provolone, or American)
1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns, optional)
Pickles, lettuce, tomato, or crispy onions for toppings (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Stir in ketchup, steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beef broth or water if needed to adjust consistency.
- Butter the buns and toast them in a skillet until golden and crisp (optional).
- Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with a slice of cheese and let it melt. Add toppings if desired, then cover with the top bun.
- Serve immediately with sides like fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.
