Ingredients
2 bananas, cut into 1/2″ pieces
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons raw honey or regular honey
Instructions
- In a frying pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter, honey, and cinnamon together until fully combined.
- Add the banana slices in a single layer and cook for about 4 minutes, or until the bottoms start to caramelize and turn golden brown. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning.
- Flip each banana piece and cook for another 4 minutes until the other side is golden and caramelized.
- Serve immediately as-is or over ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or French toast.
Notes
- Use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper, richer sweetness.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra warmth.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts for added crunch.
- Swap butter for coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
- Use plantains instead of bananas for a different texture and flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat or in the microwave for 15–20 seconds.
