Soft, sweet, and bursting with caramelized flavor, these pan fried cinnamon bananas are a quick and delightful treat perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a mid-day snack. The warm cinnamon-honey glaze coats tender bananas for a comforting, melt-in-your-mouth bite.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2–4 servings

Ingredients

2 bananas, cut into 1/2″ pieces

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter

2 tablespoons raw honey or regular honey

Instructions

  1. In a frying pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter, honey, and cinnamon together until fully combined.
  2. Add the banana slices in a single layer and cook for about 4 minutes, or until the bottoms start to caramelize and turn golden brown. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning.
  3. Flip each banana piece and cook for another 4 minutes until the other side is golden and caramelized.
  4. Serve immediately as-is or over ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or French toast.

Notes

  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper, richer sweetness.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra warmth.
  • Sprinkle with chopped nuts for added crunch.
  • Swap butter for coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • Use plantains instead of bananas for a different texture and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat or in the microwave for 15–20 seconds.
