Ingredients
Biscuit Dough and Cheese
- 1 Can premade biscuits (8 biscuits)
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (block form)
Coating
- 3 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F, ensuring it reaches the optimal temperature for baking the cheese bombs to a perfect golden brown.
- Prepare Dough and Cheese: Open the can of premade biscuits and separate each biscuit into two round slices, making a total of 16. Cut the block of mozzarella cheese into 16 small cubes, approximately 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch in size. Place one cube of mozzarella in the center of each biscuit dough round.
- Seal Cheese in Dough: Bring the edges of the dough around the cheese cube and pinch them together securely, making sure the cheese is completely sealed inside the dough to prevent leakage while baking.
- Prepare Coating: Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a small bowl. In another bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder to create the savory cheese coating.
- Coat Cheese Bombs: Dip the top of each dough-covered cheese ball into the melted butter, then roll or sprinkle them in the Parmesan cheese and seasoning mixture, coating thoroughly.
- Bake: Place the prepared cheese bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the dough is lightly browned and cooked through.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping, enhancing the cheesy, savory flavors with a tangy complement.
Notes
- Make sure to pinch the dough edges tightly to prevent cheese from oozing out during baking.
- You can substitute Italian seasoning with a blend of dried basil, oregano, and thyme if preferred.
- The cheese bombs are best served fresh and warm but can be reheated gently in the oven.
- For a spicy twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the Parmesan mixture.
- Use low-moisture mozzarella for best melting and minimal moisture leakage.
