No reviews

A refreshing homemade strawberry lemonade with the perfect balance of sweetness from fresh strawberries and tartness from lemons.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 quarts (6-8 servings)

Ingredients

4 cups hulled and halved strawberries (about 1 pound)

6 cups cold water, divided

½ cup honey or agave nectar (adjust to taste, up to 1 cup)

2 medium-size lemons, cut into wedges

Optional garnishes: whole strawberries, lemon slices, fresh mint, or lemon balm sprigs

Instructions

  1. In the basin of the blender, add the strawberries, 3 cups of cold water, and the honey or agave nectar. Blend until smooth. Adjust sweetness if needed.
  2. Pour the strawberry puree mixture into a large pitcher.
  3. Add the lemon wedges and the remaining 3 cups of water into the blender. Blend until the lemon is mostly chopped.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any pulp.
  5. Pour the strained lemon juice into the pitcher with the strawberry mixture and stir well to combine.
  6. Serve over ice in glasses and garnish with lemon slices, whole strawberries, or fresh herbs like mint or lemon balm, if desired.

Notes

  • If using frozen strawberries, let them thaw completely and reserve the juice.
  • For a more tart version, increase the amount of lemon or use limes instead of lemons.
  • Sweeteners can be adjusted to taste, using maple syrup or stevia as alternatives to honey or agave nectar.
  • For a sugar-free version, use stevia or monk fruit sweetener.
  • This recipe can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
