This Homemade Cinnamon Donut Bread combines the warm, nostalgic flavor of classic cinnamon donuts with the soft, tender crumb of a quick bread. Topped with a crisp cinnamon-sugar layer, it’s a comforting treat that’s easy to make and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or snacking.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 slices

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup melted butter

2 tablespoons sugar (for topping)

1 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray and dust lightly with flour.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and melted butter until well combined.
  4. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Mix topping sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For mini loaves, reduce baking time to 25–30 minutes.
  • For dairy-free, substitute milk with almond or oat milk and butter with coconut oil.
  • Add a glaze drizzle after cooling for extra sweetness.
  • Mix in chopped nuts or apples for variation.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for 1 week, or freeze up to 3 months.
