Ingredients
1 ounce package freeze-dried strawberries (or dried strawberry powder)
4 cups rice or corn Chex mix cereal
1 cup white chocolate chips
1/3 cup icing sugar (powdered sugar)
Instructions
- In a food processor, chop the freeze-dried strawberries until they turn into a fine powder. Alternatively, use pre-packaged dried strawberry powder.
- In a bowl, combine the strawberry powder with powdered sugar. Stir until the mixture is uniform in color. Once mixed, pour it into a 1-gallon freezer bag and seal it tightly. Set it aside for later use.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips by heating them in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval to prevent burning. Once melted, fold it into a large bowl with the cereal, gently coating each piece without crushing it.
- Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal into the prepared freezer bag with the strawberry-sugar powder. Seal the bag and gently toss it to coat the cereal evenly.
- Spread the coated cereal mix onto a baking sheet and refrigerate for about 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set. Once set, store in an airtight container to keep it fresh and crunchy.
Notes
- Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
- Avoid Refrigeration: Refrigeration can cause the coating to lose its crispiness and become sticky.
- For extra flavor, consider adding mini marshmallows or nuts to the mix.
- If you want a more colorful snack, add sprinkles or candy decorations to the strawberry-sugar coating.
- For different flavors, substitute white chocolate with vanilla candy melts or white almond bark.
