Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound beef sausage
1 cup pepperoni slices
1 unbaked deep-dish pie crust
1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and beef sausage until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Season the meat with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place the pie crust into a deep-dish pie pan.
- Spread half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the crust.
- Add half of the cooked meat mixture, then layer half of the pizza sauce and half of the pepperoni slices.
- Repeat with the remaining meat, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust edges are golden brown.
- Allow the pie to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute meat with plant-based protein or roasted vegetables.
- Pre-bake the crust for 5 minutes to prevent sogginess.
- Add chili flakes or jalapeños for extra spice.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for best results.
