Two refreshing whipped coffee recipes: the creamy, Instagram-famous Dalgona Coffee and the frothy, energizing Greek Café Frappe. Both are quick, easy, and perfect for warm days.

Ingredients

For Dalgona Coffee (serves 2):

2 tbsp granulated sugar

2 tbsp instant coffee

2 tbsp cold water

Ice, for serving

Milk, for serving

For Greek Café Frappe (serves 1):

1 heaping tsp instant coffee (preferably Nescafé)

1 oz cold water

1 tsp sugar

Ice

Cold water to top up

Milk to taste

Instructions

  1. To make Dalgona Coffee: In a medium bowl, combine sugar, instant coffee, and cold water.
  2. Whisk vigorously by hand for 3–5 minutes or use a hand mixer for 1 minute until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fill a glass with ice and pour in milk of your choice.
  4. Spoon the whipped coffee mixture on top. Stir and enjoy.
  5. To make Greek Café Frappe: In a shaker or jar, add instant coffee, sugar, and 1–1½ oz cold water.
  6. Shake vigorously for 30–60 seconds until a thick foam forms.
  7. Pour into a glass filled with ice.
  8. Top up with cold water and add milk to taste. Stir and enjoy through a straw.

Notes

  • Dalgona Mocha: Add 1 tsp cocoa powder before whisking.
  • Vanilla Dalgona: Add a few drops of vanilla extract.
  • Sugar-Free: Use erythritol or stevia instead of sugar.
  • Vegan Friendly: Use almond, soy, or oat milk.
  • Greek Frappe with Ice Cream: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Extra Strong Frappe: Use less water and more coffee.
  • Dalgona foam can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days; re-whip before serving.
  • Greek Frappe is best enjoyed immediately; foam can be stored for a few hours.
