A quick and easy way to make a party favorite, this Crock Pot Chex Mix delivers bold, crunchy, and savory flavors. Perfect for gatherings, snack time, or as a homemade gift.

  • Total Time: 3 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

4 cups rice Chex cereal

3 cups corn Chex cereal

2 cups wheat Chex cereal

2 cups pretzels

2 cups bagel chips

1 cup Bugles

1 cup peanuts

10 tablespoons butter, melted

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2½ teaspoons seasoned salt

1¼ teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. In a large slow cooker (6-quart or bigger), combine the rice Chex, corn Chex, wheat Chex, pretzels, bagel chips, Bugles, and peanuts. Use two wooden spoons to gently mix the ingredients together.
  2. In a separate small bowl, melt the butter. Add Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  3. Gradually pour the butter mixture over the cereal mixture, stirring gently with the wooden spoons. Continue pouring and mixing until the butter is evenly distributed.
  4. Set your slow cooker to low heat and cook the Chex mix for three hours. For the first two hours, stir every 25 to 30 minutes. In the last hour, stir every 15 to 20 minutes to prevent burning.
  5. Once cooking is complete, spread the Chex mix in a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet or parchment paper to cool for about 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store the cooled Chex mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
  • If you want to re-crisp the Chex mix, spread it out on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 250°F for about 10 minutes. Stir halfway through to ensure even heating.
  • For a sweet twist, add a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar to the butter mixture.
  • To make this recipe vegan, substitute the butter with a dairy-free alternative like margarine or coconut oil, and use vegan Worcestershire sauce.
  • You can make this recipe in advance, and it will stay fresh for up to a week in an airtight container.
