Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup flour
Pinch of salt
5 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Stir until well blended.
- Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly.
- Stir in the flour and a pinch of salt until fully incorporated into the batter.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 22 minutes or until a tester inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, with just a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the blondies to cool before cutting them into 16 bars.
Notes
- To make them gluten-free, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
- If you prefer, you can add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or toffee bits for an extra indulgent treat.
- For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
- Store the blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate them for up to a week.
- To reheat, place the blondies in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes.
