Ingredients

200g dark chocolate

150g butter

150g sugar

4 eggs

100g flour

200ml cream

100g hazelnuts

50g cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

200g chocolate ganache

100g chocolate balls

Instructions

  1. Begin by melting the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl. You can do this in the microwave or over a double boiler, stirring occasionally to ensure smooth melting.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the flour and cocoa powder into the egg mixture, stirring until well combined.
  4. Carefully fold in the melted chocolate and butter mixture, making sure everything is incorporated.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake tin and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  7. Once the cake has cooled, spread a layer of cream over the top.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts evenly on top of the cream.
