Ingredients
3 cups cereal of choice
2/3 cup peanut butter or nut butter of choice
1/2 cup agave, honey, or brown rice syrup
Optional: 1/2 tsp salt
Optional: 3 tbsp protein powder
Instructions
- Line an 8-inch pan with wax or parchment paper. For a larger batch, double the recipe and use a 9×13-inch pan.
- If necessary, gently warm the nut butter until it becomes easily stirrable.
- In a large bowl, stir together all the ingredients until well combined.
- Pour the cereal mixture into the prepared pan. Place a second sheet of parchment paper on top and press the cereal mixture firmly into the pan.
- Freeze for about 30 minutes or until the bars are firm enough to slice.
- Once firm, slice into bars and store leftovers in the refrigerator, freezer, or at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week in the refrigerator, or up to three months in the freezer.
- To make nut-free, use sunflower seed butter or other nut-free alternatives.
- For a sweeter taste, adjust the sweetener to your liking, adding more agave or honey as needed.
- For added flavor and texture, you can mix in dried fruit, chocolate chips, seeds, or nuts.
