Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak
1 packet taco seasoning or homemade spice blend
3 cups frozen French fries or fresh-cut fries
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup milk
4 large flour tortillas
Optional: sour cream, hot sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef or steak, seasoning with taco seasoning or a homemade spice blend. Brown until slightly crispy.
- Prepare the French fries according to package instructions, or use an oven, air fryer, or deep fryer. Salt them immediately after cooking while still hot.
- In a saucepan, melt the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses with milk, stirring continuously until smooth and creamy.
- On each tortilla, layer the cooked beef, prepared fries, and drizzle with the cheese sauce. Add optional toppings such as sour cream, hot sauce, guacamole, or pico de gallo if desired.
- Fold the burrito tightly and toast on a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra spice, add jalapeños or use pepper jack cheese.
- For a vegetarian version, swap the beef for black beans and grilled vegetables.
- Can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 1 month.
- Reheat by microwaving first, then toasting on a skillet for a crispy finish.
