Air fryer apples are a quick and healthy treat, flavored with cinnamon and maple syrup, offering a tender interior with a crispy exterior, and perfect for a guilt-free dessert or snack.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

2 red apples (such as Pink Lady, Honey Crisp, or Gala), peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch bite-sized cubes

2 tablespoons real maple syrup, divided

1 tablespoon melted coconut oil (refined has no taste)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F and lightly spray the basket with non-stick spray.
  2. In a bowl, toss the peeled apple cubes with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, coconut oil, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the apple cubes to the preheated air fryer basket. Be sure not to overcrowd them so they cook evenly.
  4. Air fry the apples for 10-14 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. They should be golden and crispy on the outside while remaining tender on the inside.
  5. Once done, remove the apples from the air fryer and toss them with the remaining 1 tablespoon of maple syrup.
  6. Serve warm, either on their own, over oatmeal, or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Add nuts: For added crunch, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans over the apples before air frying.
  • Spices: Experiment with different spices like nutmeg or allspice for extra flavor.
  • Substitute syrup: While maple syrup is highly recommended, you can use honey as a substitute for a different sweetener.
  • Toppings: Serve the apples with a dollop of dairy-free whipped cream, a sprinkle of granola, or a scoop of non-dairy vanilla ice cream.
